Bigo Live app has been blocked by Pakistan. A warning has been issued to TikTok on the grounds of streaming immoral, and vulgar stuff.
The nation’s telecom authority claimed that Bigo Live has been blocked over complaints received from different areas of the country. It circulates data which is out of the ambit of morality, leading to a strikingly negative impact on the nation’s youth. The videos went viral on Bigo were not under moral check and balance.
The complaints received from various parts of the country gave rise to increasing concerns.
Those concerns, according to PTA, were conveyed to ByteDance and Bigo app, but the response was not satisfactory.
Due to no entertainment of the concerns relayed, PTA blocked Bigo Live under PECA (nation’s Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act).
The popular app, TikTok grew rapidly. The quicker it grows the more it is subject to complaints. It has faced a number of complaints over the previous few weeks from different countries.
According to reports, Tiktok has been the most downloaded app in Pakistan. It’s amassed 40 million users.
In India, the second populated country of the world, TikTok’s users grew up to a number of 200 million. It was the biggest marketing place outside China. India, owing to cyber security concerns, banned TikTok, Bigo and 57 other Chinese apps.
Moreover, in a statement, some days back, the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo said that the US was looking at banning TikTok. The concerns emerged in the wake of its use as tool of propaganda and surveillance by the Beijing Government.
