According to Cloud fare report, TikTok as a more visited site than Google in 2021. Tiktok has overtaken the American search engine, Google, in 2021. The rankings conducted have shown that TikTok knocked Google off the top position. The Chinese app has occupied the top position since August.
Last year, the American search engine, Google, was on the top of the most searched websites. Other websites, including TikTok, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and Netflix were enlisted in the top 10.

Surge in TikTok ranking due to COVID-19
The surge has been due to COVID-19 lockdowns. People remained at home and sought a source of entertainment. Fortunately, TikTok emerged as the top entertaining video viral application. It has been downloaded more than 3 billion times from Playstore. The app has earned a great number of users. Currently, it has a number of viewers of 1 billion. And this number continues to grow from time to time.

TikTok as a Chinese mega app
The Chinese mega social network, TikTok, is owned by a Chinese company called Bytedance. Primarily, to comply with the country’s censorship rules, it ran on another network. The app is called Douyin. It was first released in September 2016. China issued rules that users under the age of 14 would be limited to 40 minutes per day on the social network. Later on it went ahead and increased the number of its users world wide.

Launch of TikTok at international level
TikTok was launched at international level in 2018. It was merged with another Chinese social media service called Musical.ly. The latter app lets users share videos of themselves lip-synching to songs. In 2019, it underwent a temporary ban in India, a US counterintelligence investigation and a record £4.3m fine after Musical.ly. It was found to have intentionally cast content published below the given age.

The duration of the video is also limited. No more than 30 seconds of video can you share on the TikTok application. TikTok has overtaken Google because of its shortcut video clips. A large number of users share dubbed songs, hymns, anthems, and many other religious stuff that the viewers like. It’s one of the most visited sites that no app has surpassed yet. The main aim of the app is entertainment.
